Christopher Gibbons Field Working Group role is to Design, Fund and Maintain the Community Field.

The History of the Field.

The Christopher Gibbons Field was formally know as the Community Field and was given to the Community as part of a planning S106 agreement when Village Way was built. Over  several years the Parish Council has consulted with the Parishioners of Bartestree and Lugwardine on what was best for the field. The results of the Public Consultation listed, Walking Track, Multi Games Play Area (MUGA), Football Pitch for general use, Public Open Space for events and Play Equipment to name but a few. The name was formally changed to recognise the local young hero of the Village “Christopher Gibbons” who battled Muscular Dystrophy.
